The
plumbed and fully tiled honey extraction room occupies about 14sqm(150sqft)
and is equipped with a large thermostatically controlled fan-assisted warming
cabinet, a Thomas motorised 20 frame radial extractor, uncapping tank, various
ripeners and settling tanks, and a Swienty automatic bottling machine. It is
possible to process around 450kg or 1000lbs per day. In addition, there are
other extractors, a cappings centrifuge, various uncapping knives, and equipment
for wax extraction or processing, that can be used occasionally for demonstrations.
Blackhorse's bees are producing around 1.5 tonnes (3,400lbs) of packed honey
